Court Advocacy & Legal Services
About Court Advocates
Wesley Shelter provides dedicated court advocacy for victims and survivors navigating civil or criminal legal systems due to domestic violence or sexual assault.

Our trained advocates are here to offer guidance, support, and information every step of the way.

We can help with completing paperwork for domestic violence protective orders and criminal charges, and connect you with key resources such as law enforcement, the District Attorney’s office, magistrates, court clerks, and victim compensation services.

Referrals and support are available both in court and at our main office, so you never have to face the legal process alone.

Legal Services
While Wesley Shelter Advocates cannot provide legal representation or advice, we can connect you with trusted local legal service providers who can. We’re here to help you understand your options, prepare for court, and feel more confident throughout the legal process.

Additional ways we support survivors in the legal system include:
-
Helping gather and organize documentation related to your case
-
Assisting with court accompaniment for emotional support
-
Explaining what to expect during court proceedings
-
Providing safety planning specific to legal appointments or hearings
-
Connecting you with interpreters or accessibility resources, if needed
-
Coordinating with law enforcement or victim advocates on your behalf

Our goal is to make sure you feel supported, informed, and never alone as you navigate these challenges. 💜
